Read More +Local search (or Local SEO) is a strategy for businesses that want to sell their services or products to a local target market. They may target their local suburb (or multiple suburbs) or region.
It is an SEO strategy that has become more popular in recent years, following the trend of people wanting to search for businesses and services near them. They may search for a product or service and add their city, region, suburb, or even their postal or zip code to the search.
Read More +On-page SEO is the work that we do on your actual website. It starts with a keyword and competitor analysis, where we look at all the available keywords in your industry and their search volume. This tells us the keywords to target that are likely to provide the best return on investment (ROI).
Our search engine optimisation consultants analyze your website metrics, current rankings, and analytics and review your website content, hierarchical structure and URL and written content to see where improvements can be made.
Off-page SEO happens outside of your website and involves finding high-quality, authoritative and relevant back-links from other websites. Having high-quality websites linking to your website can indicate that you are an authority in your industry.
Off-page search engine optimisation done well will provide your website with consistent, long-term organic rankings and is paramount to a successful SEO campaign in a competitive industry. This is the main indicator that you’re not just another site in cyber-space.
One of the most important elements of our research is keyword analysis. Our search engine optimisation consultants will do keyword research and access data to give us clear insights into potential keywords you could rank for in the organic results of search engines.
To conduct keyword research, we will explore what other websites in your niche are ranking for and which searches related to your niche are searched for the most. Part of that research will also determine which keywords are the easiest and which are the hardest to rank for.

Whilst plenty is written and said about getting external backlinks, many website owners overlook the benefits of linking within their website. Here is where you can get a jump on those competitors who have no or little internal linking.
As for those who do have internal linking and seem to rank well, you want to assess it, and if it appears to be highly effective, try to emulate their URL structure, anchor texts, and breadcrumbs. As this is a technical factor, nothing can stop you from copying those who have their internal linking well-optimised.
The first thing is not to panic. Many Google penalties are temporary, and a few simple actions can be enough to reverse them. These actions include making a list of all your backlinks, analysing them, and removing or disavowing those you can identify as poor quality.
Content can also be an issue, so look at your posts and pages, see where you may have, what Google considers thin content, and improve upon it. Also, make sure you have no scraped or duplicate content. Keyword stuffing can also bring about a penalty, so any content with this should be rewritten or removed.

Targeting customers locally is so important for two reasons. The first is that, over recent years, Google has increasingly emphasized local search results and businesses. One example is that the top 3 results for a local search can include information about those businesses, such as their opening hours and their location is pinpointed on the Google map that appears just above.
The second important reason for having a highly effective strategy for local SEO is how people search on Google for local services versus when looking for general information. They use broad terms like ‘jazz music’ or ‘dog tricks’ for general searches on a subject. With these, they will see results that are likely to include websites from anywhere in the world.
If they need help with their digital marketing strategy and want an SEO consultant who is close to them in, say, West Perth, their search term will be ‘SEO Consultant West Perth’ or variations of it. This same principle applies to any local area where someone might live, work, or be planning to visit, and it is how people will search for the type of service or product your business offers.
Hopefully, you now appreciate just how important local SEO is to a business. It gets them ranking higher in the search engines, which brings more visitors and, ultimately, more customers to their website.
We always look to build long-term, mutually beneficial client relationships where the client always gets a superior Return on Investment (ROI). SEO done correctly is a long-term, ongoing process, and our SEO Perth Specialists’ focus is on long-term accountability.
70% of users click on the results on the first page of a search engine, with over 25% of people clicking the first Google search result. This means that your website needs to appear on the front page and as high up as possible for keyword phrases that your prospective customers might type into Google when searching for products and/or services such as yours.
Search Engine Optimisation (or SEO) is of great importance for any business website. Without SEO Perth, the chances of your website making it to the front page of Google’s search results will be slim. Without high rankings, your website traffic will be low. Without website traffic, your website ‘users’ will be non-existent. Without ‘website users, ’ your sales/profit from your online business will be slim.
Google My Business Optimisation: One of the keystones of local searches on Google and must be done correctly if your business is to appear at the top of search engine results. No local SEO campaign gets off the ground unless the ‘Google My Business’ element is 100%, which we can do for you.
Keyword Research and Targeting: With this, we will identify the terms being searched for when local residents need them and look for the types of products and services you offer. Using this keyword research, we can target keyword searches by optimising your website using the product and location-specific content and pages.
Building Local Citations: This is something that most businesses do poorly, which creates a huge opportunity for you to let a local SEO agency do it right for your business. Local citations allow your business to be found more in online directories and search engines other than Google, resulting in increased traffic to your website.
Online Reputation Management (ORM): A good online reputation is important for any business, but that need is magnified massively for a local business. Whether justified or not, poor reviews and comments have a much higher negative effect on small, local businesses than big companies. That is why Online Reputation Management is a vital part of our Local SEO services, where we build upon and protect your good online reputation and ensure any negative reviews that appear have little or no impact.
Content Creation and Optimisation: When visitors come to your website, they must find content that is high-quality, informative, and relevant to what they are looking for. That content should also seek to encourage potential customers to become buyers, so an element of copywriting needs to be employed when producing it. Our writers and copywriters are skilled in producing the content that local customers want and the following sales conversion.
If you have a local business and want to learn more about how our local SEO services can help improve your search engine rankings, please get in touch with us.
For SEO to be successful, we need to first fully understand your business. We appreciate that every business is different, and every business owner has goals. Once we have discussed your goals, we will analyze where your SEO is, uncover what your competitors are doing, and look for opportunities to outrank those competitors.
We will evaluate your website and how it measures up to the many search engine optimisation ranking factors. This analysis will cover matters such as how effective the content is on your site, the meta tags, your backlink profile, and the structure of your website.
Once we have completed all the necessary research and analysis, it will be time for us to assemble the overall SEO strategy. This will be split up into specific functions, such as content creation, link building, grading the importance of specific keywords, and determining which keywords we will try to rank for first.
The strategy will include actions within your website (on-page), and some will be done externally (off-page). Internally, this may be as simple as changing meta descriptions or a more advanced plan relating to the internal linking structure. We will also produce a content creation plan so that the search engines see your website as somewhere they can send visitors looking for quality information.
External planning will relate to identifying high-authority sites to request backlinks.
If we have agreed that your website needs a major overhaul, we will start with that, followed by optimising all your website meta tags, creating new, quality content, building your website’s internal linking structure, optimising keyword density throughout your existing content, and tagging images, to name but a few.
The work that takes place externally will relate mostly to building authoritative backlinks. Still, it is important to note that getting quality backlinks from relevant, high-authority sites is more effective than simply getting hundreds of backlinks from random websites. In other words, we will focus on a backlinking strategy that Google will recognize as legitimate.
SEO is a continual improvement process where you look for small, consistent, positive progress. By ensuring that we comprehensively monitor, test and adapt what we are doing, we can ensure that we ultimately get the results you are looking for.
A critical aspect of our service is that every client has their own dedicated project manager. This ensures that throughout our process, you have someone overseeing all the search engine optimisation work we do for you and reporting back to you with the progress we are making.
Your project manager also gives you a single point of contact, which is always easier than dealing with 4 or 5 different people; plus, they can ensure each stage of the process, as agreed with you, is being implemented and completed.
Domain authority measures a domain’s ‘strength’ and can contribute to its predicted ranking in search engines. To make a simple analogy, think of domain authority as the way actors are regarded.
To be considered a top actor, several things are considered, such as the number of hit movies versus flops, Oscar wins, and box office successes in the gross takings. In much the same way, domain authority has several factors, including the number of links going to the site, the quality of those links, and the growth in the number of links.
MOZ and Ahrefs use many factors to determine domain authority, and once they have done so, the domain is given a DA or DR score. The score is between 1 and 100, with the highest authority domains scoring between 90 and 100.
As your score increases, each increment becomes harder to achieve. For example, moving your DA from 40 to 50 is much easier than moving it from 80 to 90.
Link building is one of the most important aspects of building your website authority for Search Engine Optimisation. Since good quality, sustained backlinks are a sign of your website’s credibility, it is one of the most important components of any SEO campaign.
“The reasoning here is akin to a professional reference for a job: the more positive references a person has from experts in their field, the more likely you are to hire them, right? So, the more trusted backlinks a website has the higher the authority (trust flow) score”.
We ensure that our clients get the best, most relevant, quality backlinks continuously using the correct methods and anchor text. This includes links from good quality, relevant sources – all based on the latest SEO trends, which will contribute in a positive way to your website’s ranking improvement.
Bottom line, we build and sustain your link and citation profile so that you become – and stay – an ‘authority’ in your industry.

Not all backlinks work like that, though. Many are disguised, and instead of ‘Click here’, a highlighted word may take you to another website when you click. There are also links hidden behind images, banner ads, and social media posts. When it reads a backlink, Google sees a URL, which may be the destination URL. However, it often contains text, a keyword; thus, Google sees that keyword as something your website relates to.
Backlinks – Why do they matter so much?
The question of quantity versus quality of back-links should be relatively easier to answer, as Google has clarified their preference. It, therefore, seems bizarre that some website owners, and even some SEO consultants (who should know better), think creating as many links as possible is the way to do SEO.
No one says you do not try to build as comprehensive backlinks as possible. However, this needs to be done as naturally as possible. Otherwise, Google might flag your linking effort as spam. If you go out and obtain hundreds of backlinks that suddenly appear on Google’s radar immediately, that will look highly suspicious.
Also, if you give no thought to the quality of those links, and the sites you link from are low quality, or worse, spam websites, then Google will consider you guilty by association; in other words, they will class your website as also being low quality and not worthy of being ranked highly in their search results. The difference is that if you are obtaining backlinks from quality websites, each one of those links can have greater power, and influence your ranking, than 10, 20, or even 500 low-quality ones.
It can also occur when the website owner falls foul of a new algorithm update or a change in Google’s ranking policy. An example of this was the Penguin update 2012, when Google started taking a negative view of sites with lots of spammy backlinks. Previously, these links could have helped rankings, but after the Penguin update, websites using these tactics were penalised and significantly dropped down.
Thankfully, some tools can do this for you too. You almost certainly want to sign up for the Google Search Console, as that lets you analyse exactly what Google is seeing when they crawl your website and, more importantly, what actions you should take if there are any errors or issues they’ve identified.
With most internet users having a heightened awareness of online security and the risks of data breaches, Google decided to give greater prominence to a website with HTTPS instead of one with HTTP. As obtaining HTTPS certification is relatively easy and inexpensive, it is certainly worth doing so, not least because of the SEO implications.
One example is that you could visit their premises to see how it is laid out and how welcoming it is. You could also mystery shop them by sending a friend to experience how your competitor treats their customers and the levels of customer service they offer.
Another analysis might be their finances by checking their publicly published financial details. We mention these because you should not just seek to analyse your competitors on one level, such as SEO, but do so for as many as you can.
As for SEO competitive analysis, it will tell what your competitors are or are not doing to boost their rankings. It can be done because any website online is effectively an open book for SEO. After all, if they were not, Google would not be able to crawl and then assign them a ranking for specific keywords.
Any SEO campaign that will produce results should contain certain key elements. These all fit together like a jigsaw, and just like a jigsaw, the picture is incomplete if any one piece is missing. In other words, if you employ an SEO agency, they should include all of these in your SEO plan.
Optimising Website Elements: This is usually termed On-page SEO, which involves various website tasks. These can be quite technical and, if done incorrectly, can severely damage your website’s chances of ranking and its basic functionality.
Competitor Analysis: You need to imagine SEO as a competition for search engine rankings, and as with most competitive scenarios, the more you know about your opposition, the better. This highlights their weak points, which you can exploit, and uncovers what they are doing well so that your SEO campaign can model them for the same positive results.
Keyword Research: Keywords are an aspect of SEO that much is written about, and there is also the most confusion. We explain it best by getting clients to imagine every keyword and phrase as an individual competition.
The job of SEO is to try to ‘win’ the game of getting a website ranked as highly as possible for each relevant keyword that applies to an individual business. Some games or keywords will be harder to win than others, and some will be relatively easy.
Proper keyword research will identify each keyword’s difficulty and enable you to rank relatively quickly for the easier ones. Knowing the harder ones will pinpoint how much effort and work is required to rank for those.
Keyword research will also form part of the competitor analysis, thereby identifying the keywords they rank for. This lets your campaign know what it needs to beat them and thus rank higher for each keyword.
Content Optimisation: Content will be required for any SEO campaign to be successful. The amount will depend on your competition level and keyword difficulty, but what will never change is that the content needs to be high quality. Most SEO agencies should create this content for you and then optimise it accordingly for the best traction.
Measurement and Reporting: As with any plan, the implemented actions must be measured to assess how well they work. Thereafter, certain amendments or tweaks to some aspects of the SEO campaign may be needed to improve the overall results. All of this should be reported to you regularly.
